Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Children’s wisdom teeth are usually removed in their late teens. These large molars are the last adult teeth to grow in. In many cases, there isn’t enough room for the wisdom teeth to emerge properly and they begin to impact the other molars or they become misaligned. When this happens, the wisdom teeth are surgically removed.

How Are Wisdom Teeth Removed?

During your teen’s regular dental exams, we’ll monitor how the wisdom teeth are developing. If we see that the wisdom teeth will put other teeth at risk, we’ll usually recommend having them extracted.
Because the wisdom teeth are removed before they emerge from your gums, they need to be surgically removed. The surgery is normally performed under a local anesthetic and sedation. We remove the wisdom teeth through incisions in your gums and close the incisions with sutures.

We Listen, Care and Explain.
